An aeroplane is flying from a point A whose coordinates are (5km, 2km, 5km).Consider two points B an C in the space whse coordinates are (-2km, 4km, 0 km) and (5km, 1 km, 2km). Assume that plane starts flying at t=0, in the plane of given three positions with speed 200m/sec and acceleration 4m/sec2 in a direction perpendicular to line BC till it becomes collinear with line BC at times ‘t’. Find ‘t’.

Using 3-D coordinate geometry you can easili find the length of the altitude, call it a,

a=200*t +((1/2)*4*t2)
