a)    W  =    (1/2)(3)(400) + (7 - 3)(400) + (1/2)(10 - 7)(400)

             =    2800 J


b)   W  =     W0-10 + W10-15

            =    2800 + (1/2)(12 - 10)(-200) + (13.5 - 12)(-200) + (1/2)(15 - 13.5)(-200)

            =   2150 J
