Since the size of the carom is 4x4.

1) Imagine it to be a rectangle of sides 2 and 2. Then the hypotenuse would be 2√2.

Hence, displacement from the center to the whole is 2√2m.

2) Imagine this to be a rectangle of side 2 and 1 m. Then the hypotenuse would be √5.

Hence, the displacement of the queen from the the center to the front edge would be √5m.

3) Imagine this to be a rectangle of side 4m and 1 m. Then the hypotenuse would be √17 m.

Hence the displacement of the queen from the front edge to the whole is √17m.
