just as we have seven basic physical fundamental quantities, can't we have another basic fundamental physical quantity for memory?(say, bytes)

Fundamental quantities are those quantities which are fundamental in nature, i.e, they can be applied or be used anywhere.

Since, bytes (memory) has no use in physical world, hence we do take memory or bytes into consideration, when we talk of fundamental quantities.
