why does the water in a jar not rise evenwhen an ice cube put in it melts?

the water in a jar does not rise as compared to its configuration as it was when the ice was not melted.

it is so because, the water was already displaced according to the archimedes principle to mae the ice float on it.

moreover the density of ice is less than that os water because, ice is not PURE. it has air inside it.
