The binding energy per nucleon for the parent nucleus is E1 and that for the daughter nuclei is E2. Then ?

In a decay process, the daughter nuclei are more stable than parent nucleus. Hence the binding energy per nucleon E2of the daughter nuclei is greater than E1,the binding energy per nucleon of the parent nucleus. So E2>E1.
