p1 = 4  
p2 = 2  
M0 = 1 g  
T1 = (M0 + M1 )g
= 1960 dyne  
T2 = (M0 + M2 )g
Formula to be used :  
T1 p1 ² = T2 p2 ²
T2=T1p1²/p2²
=(M0+M1)g 4²/2²
=16(Mo+m1)g/4
=1960x16/4
T2=4x1960
But as we know that (M0+M2)g=T2
(M0+M2)g=4x1960
(1+M2)980=4x1960
M2+1=4x2
M2+1=8
M2=8-1
M2=7 g wt
∴ The weight added to pan is 7 gwt
