In a series LCR circuit R = 200 Q and the voltage and the frequency of the main supply is 220 V and 50 Hz respectively. On taking out the capacitance from the circuit the current lags behind the voltage by 30 °. On taking out the inductor from the circuit the current leads the voltage by 30°. : Here, R = 200Ω, Vrms = 220 V,υ = 50 Hz Tan Q = Xl/R Xl = 1/sqrt(3) R
When only the capacitance is removed, the phase difference between the current and voltage is When only the inductance is removed, the phase difference between current and voltage is Tan 30 = Xc/R Xc = 1/sqrt(3) R So Xl = Xc
