Ans:     a

Exp:     Since coulombic forces of attraction vary directly as the product of charges, therefore, higher the charge on ions, greater is lattice energy and hence higher the melting point of ionic solid. Thus, lattice energy and hence the melting point of bi-bivalent ionic solid (mg2+, O2-) is greater than of uni-univalent ionic solid.
