t1-t2 = 2u/g.

 The reason is when the stone thrown up comes to its intial position its velocity again becomes u but in downward direction. so, the time taken by two stones to travel below its starting point is same. Then the difference in their time of flight is equal to the time taken by the stone thrwon up to reach its intial position again.
