a stone dropped from a tower takes ,t, time to reach the ground. from the same tower if 2 stones r thrown one in upward and other in downward directions with same velocity u so that they reach the ground after t1 and t2 respectively .what is the relation between t ;t1 and t2?
t1-t2 = 2u/g.
The reason is when the stone thrown up comes to its intial position its velocity again becomes u but in downward direction. so, the time taken by two stones to travel below its starting point is same. Then the difference in their time of flight is equal to the time taken by the stone thrwon up to reach its intial position again.
