$E=-dv/dx \\=>E_{avg}=-(-V-V)/2x=v/x$
here we could find only E average because we are using
$\Delta V \,instead \,of \,dV \,\\and\,\Delta x\,instead \,of \,dx$
So we can say i might be equal to v/x because there could be some other functions of V dependent of x.
