Suppose the electric field is from left to right..okay...that is frm positive to negative....

now when we throw a negative charge(electron)....it will go upwards.....and the proton will go downwards....

firstly you have to understand what electric field is???

electric field is a region where a charge can feel force on it and its direction is in the direction of force on positive charged particle...it means suppose if electric field is along positive x axis then if we place a positive charged particle then it moves in the direction of electric field i.e. along positive x axis....and just reverse is in the case of negative charged particle i.e. electron

.....so now u can conclude that proton moves in the direction of electric field whereas

electron moves in opposite direction of electric field...
