a metal sphere is placed in a uniform electric field E.i then dv/dx is uniform inside n non uniform outsidewhy non uniform outside???

Dear Saurabh

Because inside any metallic object Electric field is zero. and E=-dv/dx=0

V is not changing with distance inside the metal sphere.

outside E is inversely proportioal to r2 and hence not zero and V will vary as 1/r hence non uniform.
