If a solid conductor moves through moves through a magnetic field(constant or varying) then cuurents can also be induced in any closed loop in conductors.This is called as eddy conductors.
The induced eddy currents also generate a magnetic force that opposes the motion, making it more difficult to move the conductor across the magnetic field.This is the same mechanism used in electromagnetic brakes.
