Dear student,
Faraday’s Law of Induction describes how an electric current produces a magnetic field and, conversely, how a changing magnetic field generates an electric current in a conductor. In Faradays’s experiment, when the magnetic is moved back and forth, galvanometer needle moves, indicating that a current is induced in the coil. The needle immediately returns to zero when the magnet is not moving. Through this experiment, Faraday confirmed that a moving magnetic field is necessary in order for electromagnetic induction to occur.
