These two conducting plates will be acting as capacitor plates so in varying magnetic field it will induce an EMF and thus a current will flow since EMF will vary so to oppose the magnetic field to increase the current should be flowing from plate X to plate Y in the air that is true capacitor
does you know that current flows from
positive to negative and thus positive it
will be X and negative plate will be y
