Phase difference between ac emf and current
i) In pure resistor: zero
ii) In pure Inductor: Voltage leads current by 900
iii) In pure capacitor: Current leads voltage by 900

In a pure resistor, the phase difference between AC Emf and AC current is zero.In a pure inductor, the AC Emf is ahead of AC current by a phase of exactly 90 ∘ .
