Tjhe capacitor C is initially without charge. X is now joined to Y for a ong time, during which H 1 heat is produced in the resistance R. X-Y connection is removed and X is now connected to Z for a long time, during wihch heat H 2 is produced in R. Wihat is relation of H1 and H2. H 1 =H 2 H 1 =H 2 /2 H 1 =2H 2 H 1 =H 2 /4

Dear student

When X is joined to Y for a long time (charging), energy stored
in the capacitor is equal to heat produced in R=H1.
When X is joined to Z (discharging), the energy stored in
C=(H1) reappears as heat (H2) in R. Thus, H1=H2
