The potential of certain points in the circuit are maintained at the values indicated. The voltmeter and ammeter are ideal. Find the potential of the cross junction point in the circuit and the readings of voltmeter and ammeter. All cells are ideal.

Let x be the volts at the junction, then applying KCL at the junction we get,(x+20)/20 + (x + 20)/10 + (x – 16)/10 + (x-0)/20 = 0(x+ 20 + 2x + 40 + 2x – 32 + x) = 06x + 28 = 0x = -28/6 => -14/3 voltsHence at junction it is -14/3 volts. The reading of ammeter would be => I = (-14/3 – 0 )/20 => -14/60 = -7/30 Aminus sign indicates that the direction is opposite of what we assumed.
