Since it is a metal cube it is conducting and hence a charge can`t be inside the surface and due to its conducting nature the negative charge is attracted towards the positive charge q and positive charge is towards opposite charge and hence it is a non uniform charge distribution so the option D is correct.

ANS.D is correct because when any type of charge whether it is a whole body or a point charge is brought near a conducting object then due to induction the surface towards the charge gets distributed with opposite charge and the surface opposite to it gets distributed with the same charge as that of the inducing charge ...... so gets non uniformly distributed with charge

Answer D. When a positive charge is brought near a isolated cube then due to induction negative charged gets induced then the surgace opposite yo it gets disturb.

CORRECT OPTION:
                                [  D   ]
EXPLANATION :
The
charge inside the conductor is always zero and all charges are distributed on the outer surface of the conductor. So when a charge Q is brought near a metal cube the charge inside of cube will remain zero but outer surface will get non-uniform charge distribution.
