@ utkarsh
carbon have many crystallisation form , and so, called as elemental form . so, we cannot define carbon as an insulator , conducter or semiconducter .
in certain condition semiconducter acts like a conducter as in room temperature , the electrons will be transferred from valence band to the conduction band .
CHARCOAL and GRAPHITE , which are allotropes of carbon are acting like that of a conducter and it have capability to transfer electric charges between them .
whereas diamond have a diffrent crystal structure and act as a insulator .
