Heat generated in the r is maximum when the load resistance (which is r here will be equal to Rth )
Rth – stands for thevenin resistance .
Short circuit the voltage source and find equivelent resistance across r load.
now R and R will come in parallel ,
So Rth = r = R/2
so, f will be ½
