in reverse biasing the thing u need to understand is that the +ve terminal of battery is connected with n type semiconducter and -ve potential of battery is connected with p type semiconducter,
here as p type is -vely charged in p-n junction ,and n type is +ve in p-n junction ,
so, the potential gradient will be support the reverse biasing,,
so, if the potential gradient will support then the potential barriers will also support, that will result in increase the resistance and no current will flow in that,,
due to the flow of minority carriers we will get only a small current for sometime, thats called as reverse current,,
HOPE IT CLEARS YOUR DOUBT
