In potentiometer emf is equal to voltage ? Why dowe use AC current mainly ? What is advantage of AC over DC

Well for your first question I assume that you know the basic design of Potentiometer. As no current flows through the battery of which we have to calculate EMF, thus there is no drop across internal resistance. And thus EMF is equal to terminal voltage.
