Dear student 
Assume the middle of 4ohm resistance point as C 
Now A is connected to C with two 4ohm in parallel , 
C is connected to B with 4ohm 
A is connected to B with R ohm 
Now solve using Parallel and series of Resistance 
Equivalent R = 3ohm 
6R /(6+R) =3 
Solve for R it wil be 6ohm
