when a ball of mass m hits the bar of mass M at rest with velocity v in both cases why the velocity of bar after collision is same in both case. in 1st case it is hitting at the end and in the 2nd case it is hitting the COM of bar.my intuition says they cant be same in real.i am confused here.and the ball stops after collision
