Let us assume that Req = x
Just left first 1 ohm and because it is infinite series , x will come in parallel to 1 ohm
We can write
x = x/x+1 + 1
Simplify this
2x + 1 = x^2 +x
x^2 – x -1 =0
The roots of this equation is :
1+sqrt(5) / 2
A is correct
