the  energy is always measured in aspect of the work done by the capacitor to potential.
Firstly we assume that the both capacitors are uncharged. Then first we remove the small positive charge from the first plate and transferred it to the second one.
•  q – total charge on the plate.
• V – potential difference between two plates
And we also know that
q = CV.
And when the small  charges dq from one negative plate to positive plate.
• dW = Q/c dq
• then total work, Integrate on both sides
• ∫dW =∫ Q/c dq
• W = Q2/2c
And we know that
q= CV
W = ½ CV2
