It is same as wheatstone`s bridge... so we can neglect the resistance which which which is in between the two arms...so...Now...The upper two resistors are in series...R1 = 2+2 = 4 Ohms...The bottom two resistors are in series...R2 = 2+2 = 4 Ohms...Now...R1 and R2 are in parallel... so..Net resistance ,R = (R1 × R2) ÷ R1 + R2...So... R = 4×4 ÷ 8. = 2 ohms...

It is balanced wheatstone bridge. so equivalent reistance is given by (R1+R2)(R3+R4)/(R1+R2+R3+R4) = 4*4/8 = 2 ohm.
