Dear Monosij,
the value of capacitance and the potential difference applied is not given in question so i am assuming it as C and V .. 
the capacitance of capacitor x and y is 6C and C
Effective capacitance of capacitor = 6C/7
Energy stored in capacitor = ½. C.V2  =  3C/7V2
