DBE stands for double bond equivalent. It is also called degree of unsaturation.
To calculate double bond equivalent of a compound if its structure is given, count total number of
\pi bonds and rings in it.
In the given structure, number of \pi bonds is 12 and that of rings is 8.
So, its DBE is 20.
