A and B end are open , so, there will be no current through outer 2ohm and 2 ohm resistence ,
Current will only flow in the inner closed part ,
Let assume current = I amp , and apply Kvl in inner loop , you will get the value of I through 4 ohm .

Use the equivalent circuit for battery and 4ohm resistance by formula (E1r2+E2r1)/(r1+r2)
Here E1 is 4V and E2 is zero
