A wet comb does not attract particles buy dry comb does why

The answer for the question is that static electricity is always more in dry state and hence it is in negligible amount when comb gets wet, so lesser the static electricity, lesser it exerts pull on the particles with opposite charge.It`s nothing to get confused, just remember that static electricity is always more in dry state.
