a thin, metallic spherical shell contains a charge Q on it. a point charge q is placed at the centre of the shell and another charge q 1 is placed outside it. all the three charges are positive. the force on the central charge due to the shell is (a) towards left (b) towards right (c) upward (d) zero

Force on central charge due to the shell is zero because we know that for a body which has electric charge Q on it’s surface, the electric field due to the charge Q inside the body is zero. Therefore the central charge experiences zero force due to the shellbecause no field due to the charge on the surface of the shell is present inside the body.

it is zero since there is no electric field inside the shell. It is also like the conductor. in conductor also the charge will always resides on the surface.
