A potnetial difference of V is applied at the ends of a copper wire of length l and diameter d. On doubling only d, what is the change in drift velocity?

As drift velocity v_{d} = \propto 1/A \propto 1/d^{2}
So on doubling d drift velocity will reduce by 4 times and become ¼ of its initial.
