A current passes through a wire of non uniform cross section. which of the following quantities are independent of the cross section? (a) charge crossing in a given time interval (b) drift speed (c) current density (d) free electron density also give the reason as to why each option is right or wrong.

Its is independent of free electron density.
because we know that
J = I /A = neVd
Where J = current density,
A = cross section area
n = no. of electrons
e = charge of electrons
ne = charge crossing in a given time interval
Vd = drift velocity
