rules for vector-

1.direction

2.magnitude

3.vectors follow triangle law of addition.

current has direction and magnitude but it doesnt follow triangle law o addtion,so it is not a vector quantity,its scalar.

Current is a scalar quantity.

definition of a vector::a vector is a physical quantity which has both magnitude and direction .Also it should follow laws of addition of vectors.

when we talk about current though it has both magnitude and direction, it doesnot follow vector law of addition.

hence it is a scalar quantity......
