Q.Initially two resistors R 1 and R 2 are conected to a battery of voltage of battery V.Then, without any change in the circuit arrangement a resistor R 3 is conected parallel across R 1 .Under this condition will the current through R 1 increases or decreases or is the information insufficient to tell anything about the change in the current in R 1?Explain in details!!! pliz help!!! see,in parallel arrangement the curren disintegrates i.e. it divides.therefore.the current through r1 will decrease.....................and can i ask you in which class you are?

current through R1 will definitely decrease because current is divided. But there won't be appreciable change if R3 is too small

The current in R1 will decrease as when the R3 resistor is put parallel to it then some portion of the total current goes to R1 and the rest goes to R3 but the voltage remains constant.
