Conduction of metal is not defined on the basis of where the field is zero or not ..

 

Yes you are right there is no magnetic field and electric feild inside a conductor ..But it is available outside the conductor ..Sow whenever u put any charge outside the conductor it will experience a force while in case when u put it inside..it won't :)

So there is no electricity in the core of conductor but there is electricity out side of it ..and this brings current in the picture..:)
