a 4 ohm resistance wire is doubled on it calculate the new resistance of the wire
Well Keshav !..
mention the variable that you are doubling....Length or area of cross section of the Resistance..
If you will double the length ... New resistance will be 8 ohm
and if you will double the area ... new resistance will be 2 ohm ...
Reason is simple because resistance is directly proportional to length while inversely proportional to area ..
Now if you are put a resistance on the 4ohm ...then both will come in parallel and the new resistance will be 2 ohm ..!
