HOW DOES SHORT CIRCUITING TAKES PLACE?????????? PLS ILLUSTRATE

What is short circuit?

It simply means the positive and negative wires have come into contact with each other.

This can occur in case the insulation of the wires have damaged or an appliance is defective.In this situation the total resistance decreases drastically leading to an increase in current according to Ohm's law (R=V/I) . This causes heating of line wires and results in spark at the point of short circuit.This can cause even fire in the house. Sometimes overloading due to connecting many appliances may also lead to increase in current.

This is how the short circuit takes place.
