Dear student,

Single phase inverters supply single phase AC power. Three phase inverters supply 3 phase AC power.

Single phase AC power is what you get from the outlets in your home.

If you don't know what 3 phase AC power is then the odds are you don't need it. It is only used for items with very large motors or heaters, mainly industrial equipment or things like commercial tumble dryers.
