This is a technique useful for multiplying large numbers with each other, which is evolved from Vedic Mathematics Let us consider an example: Example: say, we want to multiply 65 * 78 6 5 ↓ 7 8 --------- 0, 4 carry 6 5 × (6* =48, 7*5 =35) 7 8 (48 + 35 = 83=> +4carry = 87) --------- 7 0, 8 carry 6 5 ↓ 7 8 (7*6 = 42 => +8 carry = 50 --------------- 5 0 7 0 The answer is: 65 * 78 = 5070 This trick can be extended any larger numbers too. This is a technique useful for multiplying large numbers with each other, which is evolved from Vedic Mathematics
Let us consider an example:
Example:
say, we want to multiply 65 * 78
6 5
↓
7 8
---------
0, 4 carry
× (6* =48, 7*5 =35)
7 8 (48 + 35 = 83=> +4carry = 87)
7 0, 8 carry
7 8 (7*6 = 42 => +8 carry = 50
---------------
5 0 7 0
The answer is: 65 * 78 = 5070
This trick can be extended any larger numbers too.
