I used Solomons and Fryhle. This is an extremely readable book, far more so than most other organic chemistry textbooks. The authors make excellent use of diagrams and explain things very clearly. I found the presentation was written in the manner that somebody actually speaks to you, hence its effectiveness.

***However, it's neither the best text if you want a reference textbook or an advanced textbook. But I was a biology major and only took one semester of organic chem so this was sufficient
