I would suggest you to go for CSE branch or Mech branch in somewhat poor NIT than going for poor branches in good NITs ... probably you should try NIT Rourkela , NIT jamshedpur , NIT jalandhar .. Their rankings go pretty below by 4th and 5th rounds of counselling ...
