WBJEE – The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations are conducted by a Board that was formed in 1962 to hold a common admission test for all the Engineering Colleges of the State of West Bengal. Today, it conducts five entrance examinations to screen candidates for different courses conducted by universities, government colleges and self-financing colleges of the state of West Bengal. They are: JEM: This exam is conducted for admission to degree level Engineering & Technology courses including Dairy Technology, Pharmaceutical Technology, Agricultural Engineering as well as Medical and Dental courses. WBJEE Board is conducting a separate admission test for admission to degree level course in Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry in 2009, for the first time. JECA: This exam is conducted for admission the Master of Computer Application (MCA) course in different universities throughout the state. JELET: This exam is conducted for diploma holders in Engineering & Technology or Pharmacy as well as B.Sc. degree holders with Mathematics as one of the subjects at the graduation level who are seeking direct admission to the 2nd Year of the 4-year degree course in Engineering & Technology or Pharmacy. JENPARH: This exam is conducted for admission to paramedical or alternative therapy degree level courses such as Nursing (H), Physiotherapy, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, and Unani system of Medicine.
