let sign convention is +ve upwards,

initial velocity of body  u = 12m/s

acceleration a= -10m/s^2

s =ut +1/2at^2

-81 = 12t+1/2(-10)t^2

on solving

t=27/5 sec

no mass will not create any difference.

             =>  mg = ma
