Dear student,

Differentiation Concept

A function  f  is said to have a derivative at any point x if it is defined in some (undeleted) neighborhood of the point x and

  Lim f(x+∂x) – f(x)
∂x → 0 --------------------
∂x

exists(finite). The value of this limit is called the derivative of f at any point x and is denoted by  f '(x).

Differentiation Equation

f'(x) = Lim f(x+∂x) – f(x)
∂x → 0 --------------------
∂x

This equation is called differentiation equation. By using this equation,we can find derivatives of different functions. ∂x is the small change in the variable x. f(x) is a function of x. f '(x) is derivative of f(x).
