Jabalpur Engineering College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogoki Vishwavidyalay Bhopal (M.P.) which is the only technical university of M.P. The college was declared autonomous in 1997-1998 by the Government of M.P. An expert committee from R.G.P.V Bhopal (M.P) visited the institution for granting the academic autonomy to the institution.
Nearly sixty years ago, that is on July 7th, 1947 Jabalpur Engineering college, the fostering institution of technical education in Madhya Pradesh, came into existence. This institute of higher learning is among the oldest and the finest centres of its kind in India. In its persuit of excellence in education in several fields of engineering it has acquired a high rating in the international scenario. Presently J.E.C offers B.E degree courses in 7 disciplines and 9 post graduate courses in various in various engineering fields,3 P.G. courses in applied Sciences and M.C.A. to keep in consonance with the fast emerging technologies.
