Hi
I would suggest u to go for btech + mtech course only . The best choice among these is the mettalurgical and material b tech from kgp. then the process engg with mba, roorkee, then agri and food kgp , after that go for bio sci in kanpur. do not go for ismu dhanbad. go for the IITs.
Mettalurgy has got good scope ahead and fetches u a decent paid job.
Some different industries involved in metallurgy are:
Mining or raw material extraction
Raw materials refiners/suppliers (aluminum/steel/etc)
Aerospace
Oil companies (generally for failure analysis or corrosion)
Manufacturing (forging, casting, other materials fabrication of metals, plastics, ceramics)
Thin films, optical coatings, etc
Consulting/research
Laboratory services
If you want to go on to work on an MS or PhD, there's a broad range of things you can study as well:
Alloys
Failure analysis
Ceramics
Corrosion
Welding
Thin films
Mechanical metallurgy
Plastics
U can fill up all the choices if u wish to, coz there is always a chance u an get something better that u weent expecting , else fill up the choices that u expect.
